FileMaker Press Release
Woody Hume Joins The Support Group, Inc., Office to Open in Washington, DC
June 21, 2004 – NATICK, MA, The Support
Group, Inc., one of the world’s largest FileMaker development and
training companies with offices in Los Angeles, the San Francisco
Bay area, New York and Boston, today announced that Woody Hume has
joined the company as Managing Director for the Mid-Atlantic region
and will open a new office and training center in the Washington,
DC area.
“Adding Woody to our senior management team is a real coup.”
stated Rich Coulombre, President of The Support Group. “He brings a
wealth of experience and personal contacts that will help us better
service our government, education and commercial accounts in the
Mid-Atlantic States.”
“In March of this year, FileMaker introduced FileMaker Pro 7.”
Coulombre continued “And that has been a major catalyst for us.
We’ve had record sales for each of the past 3 months as FileMaker
users have come to us for training plus advice and guidance on
migrating to FileMaker Pro 7. Additionally we’re building custom
database applications that take advantage of the increased
capabilities delivered by this new release. We opened an office in
San Mateo earlier this year and are overwhelmed by the response
we’ve had there. Expanding into Washington, DC has always been a
part of our plan for growth and getting Woody to head up the
initiative is a really big win for us.”
“The Support Group has been a great success over the years,” said
Woody Hume “and I’m honored that they asked me to be a part of it.
There’s an enormous base of FileMaker users in the DC area and a
real need for the kind of high-caliber training and custom database
development services that The Support Group is known for. My
background as a senior-level sales manager and business development
executive is a perfect match for expanding The Support Group’s
efforts in the region.”
Before joining The Support Group, Woody Hume worked for worked for
Autodesk, Inc. as a Senior Government Sales Manager selling
architectural, mechanical and GIS solutions. At Autodesk, he
developed strategic sales and marketing plans to penetrate U.S.
Government Agencies with Homeland Security solutions and he
delivered the first GIS Homeland Security solutions to the U.S.
Coast Guard. Prior to that, he worked at Adobe Systems Inc. as
Director of their Government Systems Group, responsible for
managing sales and marketing focused on the U.S. Federal, and State
& Local government markets. At Adobe, Woody was instrumental in
fashioning Adobe’s strategy to support key government initiatives
such as the Government Paperwork Elimination Act and the Digital
Signature Millennium Act. Woody’s experience also includes working
for Claris Corporation, the forerunner of FileMaker, Inc.
The Support Group plans to have its Washington DC facility open
and fully operational on November 1, 2004 with introductory,
intermediate and advanced FileMaker Pro 7 classes beginning on
November 9th.
