TotalOffice 5 ready for FileMaker Pro 7

ABECON’s "any time, any place, anywhere" relationship management system first to make use of new FileMaker Pro 7

Huizen, the Netherlands, 26 April 2004 – ABECON Information Systems, supplier of solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, has launched the latest version of its relationship management system TotalOffice 5. This is the first such system in the Netherlands to use FileMaker Pro 7, which enables it to be accessed anywhere and at any time with the aid of a web browser.

TotalOffice is the fruit of ABECON's 25 years of experience. The basic package contains all the functions needed to manage multiple relationships: contact registration, activities registration and correspondence. This package can be extended with a series of modules: Procurement, Sales, Inventory, Projects, Time Records, HRM, Courses and Contracts. The system is suitable for both Windows and Macintosh users. TotalOffice 5 is integrated with Microsoft Word and Outlook, and can be linked to Palm PDA and PocketPC handheld computers – making it accessible everywhere.

New in TotalOffice 5:
_ Extensive options for assigning contacts to different addresses.
_ Allocation of multiple roles to contacts, thus revealing network relationships.
_ Personalised multilingual user interface.
_ User-specific authorisation, so that each user sees only what he or she is permitted to.

"The new features by which TotalOffice 5 allows the same data to be viewed in different ways make a world of difference," says Niels van Golden, one of the directors of the ABECON Group. "For example, an apparently average client could now be revealed as heading the list of loyal customers and prompt payers."

New features
TotalOffice 5 uses many of the new features found in FileMaker Pro 7:
_ Import, store and export various file types, including photographs, videos, music, Word documents, Excel worksheets and PDF files.
_ Faster access to information through the simultaneous opening of multiple screens in the same database.
_ Produce comprehensive and informative reports.
_ Accurate data entry and more secure updates thanks to the ability to confirm records and layout changes before implementation.
_ Enhanced web functionality, enabling remote workers can gain access to the database using a web browser and intuitive interface.

"TotalOffice is a good example of a flexible, productivity-enhancing solution which makes good use of the opportunities offered by FileMaker," says Thomas Kunetz, FileMaker's Technical Manager.

"The main reason we chose FileMaker Pro 7 for TotalOffice 5," adds Niels van Golden, "is because the new relational structure gives us the opportunity to add new functions."

System requirements
TotalOffice 5 requires FileMaker Pro 7. It runs on both Windows and Mac OS systems.
_ Windows requirements: Pentium II or higher, 32MB RAM. Client: Windows 95 or higher. Server: Windows 98 or higher. Network: TCP/IP or IPX/SPX.
_ Macintosh requirements: Macintosh PowerPC or higher, 32MB RAM. Client: Mac OS 8 or higher. Server: Mac OS 8.6 or higher. Network: TCP/IP or AppleTalk.
