SHpartners to demonstrate SHarky 6.1 at FileMaker DevCon 2004

AALTER, Belgium -- August 25, 2004 -- SHpartners today released SHarky 6.1, an advanced Web Server Connector for FileMaker 5, 6 and soon also FileMaker 7 databases. At this year's FileMaker Developer Conference , SHpartners will host a conference session entitled "SHarky - Bringing FileMaker 5, 6 and 7 databases to the web". The session will be held on August 31st, from 1:00pm to 1:45pm About SHarky 6.1 SHarky is SHpartners' way of bringing FileMaker databases to the web. It consists of an advanced Web Server Connector, much like FileMaker's own product, but adds a number of features. SHarky comes in three flavors: 1-- SHarky Lite is a freeware version that provides a number of enhanced features compared to FileMaker's own Web Server connector, but is limited to a maximum of 10 databases. 2--SHarky Professional provides additional features, and allows you to host up to 100 databases on a single web site. 3-- SHarky ISP is an advanced version that was tailored specifically for the needs of Internet Service Providers. It provides support for multiple web sites, an unlimited number of databases and multiple customers. Currently, SHarky supports FileMaker 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 database hosting (FileMaker Unlimited required). FileMaker 7 hosting will be integrated into the next revision of the product, due later this year, after the release of FileMaker Server 7 Advanced . As such, SHarky's backoffice will provide an ideal upgrade/migration path for those who want the capability to host both FileMaker 5/6 and FileMaker 7 databases. System requirements SHarky is supported on systems with Red Hat Linux 7.1 through 9, MacOS X and MacOS X server with Apache 2, PHP and MySQL installed. The SHarky backoffice can be managed from any platform through a web interface. SHarky only accepts FileMaker Unlimited cients as web hosts. These can be version 5, 5.5 or 6 Unlimited clients running on Windows or MacOS X.
