MAGICCARPET – Easy Automatic Version Control For FileMaker Pro 8

Murrieta, CA ., Aug. 29 -- Model Masters announces the new release of Magic Carpet, a tool for automating and simplifying version control and backup procedures for FileMaker Pro solutions. The new version is fully compatible with FileMaker Pro 8, and older versions.

Installs in seconds on your desktop or notebook computer— PC or Mac. Uses FTP standard protocols or works with local file servers to archive and store virtually any type of file on the FTP/file server of your choice. No server configuration or modifications needed. Also works with Apple's iDisk™ and other WebDav compatible online storage ASP's like WebDrive™ and XDrive™.

You can check-in and check-out files as needed. Transparent file compression is done if requested. Versioning - MAGICCARPET manages version files. When a user "checks-in" a file, they are prompted to create a new version number and any change notes. If the file was to be archived, the archive version is also noted.

Archiving - MAGICCARPET can archive files. If requested, each uploaded file creates a copy of itself along with a historical trail which can later be traced-- and accessed if necessary.

Backup - MAGICCARPET can also backup all it's version files and control files from the server to any local folder. Files can be downloaded as is, or decompressed when downloaded.

Synchronization - Groups of users may wish to keep a local project folder and synchronize it only with those files changed on the server. This powerful tool helps make sure users always have the latest versions to work on.
