Aurora Community TV increases productivity by 75 percent with TelevisionPOINT

Specialist subscription based TV channel, Sydney-based Aurora Community Television, has the challenging task of managing complex television program and advertising schedules, tape libraries and program contracts, as well as producing a weekly TV guide. Administering these core business processes through separate manual spreadsheet applications was proving to be an overwhelming and time-consuming task - one that was prone to errors, took up hours of employee time and meant that documents could only be accessed by one person at a time.

So Aurora called in FileMaker developer Hi-Voltage to develop an application that would integrate all of these processes, make them more efficient and intuitive to use, and reduce the resources required. The result was TelevisionPOINT - a solution developed in FileMaker Pro 7 that allows Aurora to quickly and simply manage all of its core business procedures via one simple interface. When Aurora transferred from the manual system to an electronic one, it immediately achieved a 75 percent gain in productivity.

"The solution was quickly adopted by employees because it is intuitive and easy to learn and use. Another benefit is that TelevisionPOINT is easily scalable, allowing the solution to grow and adapt in line with Aurora's growing needs," said Tony Tanevski, Managing Director, Hi-Voltage.

Marque Owen, Station Manager, Aurora Community Television, commented: "TelevisionPOINT's very low cost of ownership is certainly appealing... but it's the fact that it delivers increased productivity, creativity and effectiveness that makes it an essential business tool. With an estimated saving of around $100,000, this was a great business decision."
