FileMaker Business Alliance (FBA) partners, Digital Fusion and Particle Systems, were both rewarded at the FileMaker Excellence Awards held during the company’s annual developer conference, Devcon 2008, in Arizona.

Digital Fusion took out top global honours, winning the FileMaker Excellence Award for Solution of the Year for their product, Fusion Reactor. Fusion Reactor is a plug-in that allows Web 2.0 features such as interactive charts and graphs, drag and drop functionality, slider controls, dynamic buttons, pop–up menus, live search, and calendars to be integrated with FileMaker Pro.

Digital Fusion’s chief executive, Craig Saunders said, “The plug-in was first released in August last year but since then the developers have done a lot of work aimed at making it easier to use. By providing these control tools to database developers, Reactor is mainly a time and cost saver.”

The majority of Digital Fusion’s clients are based in New Zealand and Australia, however they have recently signed some based in the United States. “A Hollywood company, for example, uses our customised software to help put film shots in the right order,” Mr Saunders said.

Another winning developer from Australia and New Zealand was Particle Systems, which was awarded the FileMaker Excellence Award for Business Driver of the Year Asia Pacific. Particle Systems has developed Streamtime which helps creative agencies manage costs, contacts, quotations, time sheets, invoicing, reporting and purchase orders.

The winners were chosen by 1,200 FBA members worldwide and based on the company’s professionalism, creativity and ability to deliver excellent solutions to their customers using FileMaker software.
