FileMaker Mobile 7: Features Overview

FileMaker Mobile 7 is a simplified version of FileMaker Pro, designed specifically for Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds, so you can easily extend your FileMaker solutions beyond your desktop to mobile individuals and workgroups.
With its ability to transfer just the data you want to one or more handhelds from a single desktop, flexible data entry and viewing features, and two-way synchronization, FileMaker Mobile provides everything you need to:

Have information at your fingertips
- Load field names and data from your existing FileMaker Pro database with simple setup and configuration screens.
- Specify shorter field names if you wish for easier viewing on your handheld.
- Specify multiple field formats, such as checkboxes, date fields, time fields, and notes fields.
Easily manage information while on the go
- View, modify, find, sort, add, and delete information on your handheld in an intuitive interface.
- Access pop-up lists, value list, checkboxes, date and time picker in the Detail View.
- Re-size columns in List View - even edit data here if you wish.
- Sort data by tapping a column heading.
- Lock the first column while scrolling across a multi-column layout.
- Capture barcode data directly into your FileMaker Mobile database. FileMaker has tested with the following Symbol bar code reading devices: PPT2800, SPS3000, CSM150.
Keep your desktop and handheld databases in sync
- Synchronize handheld FileMaker Mobile data and desktop FileMaker Pro data with the push of a button.
- Synchronize your databases even when FileMaker Pro is not running.
- Uses familiar, industry-standard HotSync for Palm OS and ActiveSync for Pocket PC handhelds.
Create mobile workgroup solutions
- Synchronize multiple devices with a single FileMaker database on your desktop for mobile individuals and workgroups.
Note: FileMaker databases must be on the desktop in order to synchronize with one or more FileMaker Mobile 7 devices. Each device requires its own license or the use of a Volume License. - Synchronize with runtime applications created with FileMaker Developer 7.
- Create scripts in FileMaker Pro 7 to run before and/or after synchronization with FileMaker Mobile 7 for a tight integration with your solutions.
