How the PHP Site Assistant Works

It's easy to use the new PHP Site Assistant feature of FileMaker Server 10 to generate a PHP web site with a few clicks. Here's how:

1. Just select the database you'd like to publish, the layout group you'd like to work with, and the theme you'd like applied to your publish data. Note that there is a new theme designed specifically for the iPhone or iPod touch that will make your database look great in the smaller format.
2. Then choose which fields you'd like to appear on your web site, along with their order, label and sorting sequence.
3. Then click the ‘Generate Site' button to have the PHP Site Assistant create a site that displays your database automatically.
4. Now you can simply type in the web address to your PHP published FileMaker database to view, edit and create information on through a web browser.

There is no additional software that needs to be installed on the remote computer or mobile devices. Just enter the URL and go!

You also get searching and sorting features that make it fast and easy to find the information you need and view it the way you want. Plus, when you create new records or update information via the web, those changes are automatically reflected in the hosted database.
