FileMaker Mobile 8 Update for Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition Devices [April 1, 2006]
Software description
This FileMaker Mobile 8 update addresses compatibility issues with Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition devices, such as the Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device PPC-6700, Verizon Wireless XV6700, and Palm® TreoTM 700w Smartphone.
Issues addressed with the update
You can now synchronize FileMaker Mobile 8 databases on your Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition devices with FileMaker Pro databases on your desktop.
Installation instructions
FileMaker Mobile 8 must already be installed on the device.
Note: This update can only be installed on Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition devices.On the desktop computer:
- Place your Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition device in its cradle.
- Open My Computer.
- Open Mobile Device.
- Copy FMM8v1_PEP.cab to the Mobile Device directory.
On the Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition device:
- Choose Start menu > Programs.
- Open File Explorer.
- Tap to open FMM8v1_PEP.cab.
- Click OK when the patch is successfully installed.
You can now synchronize your FileMaker Mobile 8 databases to FileMaker Pro 8, FileMaker Pro Advanced 8, FileMaker Server 8, or FileMaker Server Advanced 8. For information on how to synchronize FileMaker Pro databases, please refer to the product documentation.
